Frequently Asked Questions

What should I do if I have a question about the application?

If you have questions about the application, please contact the Publix Store Application Help Line at 833-755-1161.

Can I retake the Publix Retail Employment Test (PRET)?

You can retake the PRET after six months. It’s important to do your best the first time.

What happens once I submit my Publix Retail Employment Test (PRET)?

After your application is submitted, it will be active and available for hiring managers to view. If you’re selected for an interview, a manager in the store will contact you to schedule an interview time. Only applicants who are chosen for interviews are called. Store Managers wish they could call every applicant and thank him or her for considering Publix during a job search. However, the number of applications we receive makes that impossible.

How long does my application remain active?

Typically, applications are active for 60 days. However, if you don't hear from us within 30 days, log into your application at https://StoreJobApplication.publix.com to update your personal information.

How do I know what openings there are at a specific store?

Stores do not post a list of their needs because they change so rapidly. Just choose the positions that interest you when you apply at the Job Application Center.

What is the minimum age to work at Publix?

You must be at least 14 years of age to be eligible for employment with Publix. There are also age requirements for certain positions in the store. Please see a member of the hiring event staffing team if you have questions about age eligibility for specific store positions.

Where can I find out more about employment opportunities with Publix?

You can find more information about employment with Publix at https://www.publix.com/careers, including benefits, available support positions, testimonials from Publix associates, and more!

Who can I contact if I have a question about scheduling, rescheduling, or canceling an appointment to apply at a Publix job event?
